Accounting in Action Students Gain Insights into Corporate Governance
To deepen students’ understanding of corporate governance and the accounting profession, the course invited Ms Stella Lo, Vice President, and Ms Alana Lam, Chief Executive of The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI), to deliver a professional sharing session for students of the Applied Learning – Accounting in action course on 17 October 2026.
During the session, the guest speakers introduced HKCGI's work and its role in promoting corporate governance development in Hong Kong. They also explained the importance of corporate governance and highlighted the core role of the accounting profession as a "gatekeeper" of corporate governance.
The session helped students connect classroom learning with industry practice and deepen their understanding of the professional fields of accounting and corporate governance. It also broadened their perspectives and helped them prepare for future academic and career pathways.
The school will continue to provide students with opportunities for industry engagement and diverse learning experiences, enabling them to strengthen their professional knowledge, better understand related industries, and prepare for their future development.
